Free XC Lessons @ Elver Park on Feb 03, 2009
The Madison Nordic Ski Club will be offering FREE ski lessons this Tuesday, February 3rd, at 6:00 pm, meeting in the Elver Park Shelter. If you are interested, please reply to me with your style preference (skate or classic) and your ability level (beginner or intermediate). Advanced skiers get turned into instructors! You will need your own gear, though Elver does have some classic rental gear. REI rents equipment, including skate gear. You will need a ski pass to ski on the Elver Trails. You can pay for your pass at the shelter.
Check out the City of Madison Parks website for directions to Elver, fees ($6 daily, $24 season), rentals, etc.
I suggest going to the XC List webpage and joining, it's free, and you get the latest announcements about lessons and other ski happenings
The Madison Nordic Ski Club offers this service free to the community but we do encourage you to consider club membership. The club provides many other services including support for trail maintenance and grooming, youth skiing, racing programs, monthly informational meetings, ski trips, and a great website: www.madnorski.org, that is your portal to all things related to nordic skiing. You can even become a member on-line! It takes a village to support this ephemeral activity and we would love to have you join us.
