3rd Annual WI Wife-Carrying Championships on Sep 19, 2009
Wife Carrying season is here! On Sept. 19th the Third Annual WI Wife Carrying Championships will be held in Minocqua's Torpy Park. A fundraiser for the Lakeland Ski Touring Foundation, wife carrying teams compete along a 278 yard obstacle course- across sand, through water, and over log hurdles. The champions win five times a wife's weight in cash money and the wife's weight in Leinenkugel's Honey Weiss Ale. New this year, the Wife Ferrying event will involve competition in deer carriers.
