Don Miller Elver Series Race on Jan 30, 2007
Join us at Elver Park in Madison for ski racing.
Registration at 6:30 PM, race at 7:00 PM. Check the racing page for details.
There will also be FREE XC lessons at 6:00 PM! Gather at the shelter. If you are interested in group cross-country ski lessons, please reply to jim.vandenbrook@datcp.state.wi.us and let Jimmy know if you are skating or classic AND your approximate skiing ability - beginner or intermediate. As a bonus, if you or a pal do not have gear but want a lesson, you can contact Ambra Baldwin at REI, 833-6680, here in Madison and she will arrange to bring equipment to Elver for you. For those of you who are not in need of lessons but would like to help out as an instructor (teaching classic or skate, intermediate or beginner), please contact Jimmy as well.
Just a friendly reminder that you do need to have a ski trail pass. This is not included in the price of the race. The trail pass is $5 daily or $20 yearly and can be bought from the attendant in the shelter, any trail head and online http://www.cityofmadison.com/parks/winterACt4.html. This trail pass is for Madison and Dane County skiing at the following parks: Elver, Odana, Cam-Rock, Indian Lake, Lake Farm, Stewart Park and Token Creek. The funds from the pass make it possible to keep the trails groomed, the lights on and the property maintained.
