Free XC Lessons @ Elver Park on Jan 12, 2010
FREE XC ski lessons will be offered by the Madison Nordic Ski Club at Elver Park, Tuesday, January 12th at 6:00 PM. We will meet inside the Elver Park Shelter. You do not have to be a club member to sign up for a lesson but you will need your own gear. The details:
If you are interested in ski instruction please email Jimmy Vandenbrook with:
A. Names of all those who will be dropping by:
A. Your style preference(s) - classic or skate (if you're not sure then you probably want a classic lesson):
B. Your experience level(s) - beginner or intermediate:
Lessons are free, last about 1 hour, and we meet either inside (if open) or behind the Elver Park Shelter. If you need ski gear, REI rents equipment, and Elver Park rents too if the shelter is open. If renting from Elver Park, please get to the shelter a bit early to get your stuff. Also you will need a ski pass to ski the city and county parks (daily pass included with Elver Park gear rental). You can get daily or annual passes at Elver Park. Check out the City of Madison Parks site for more info on trail conditions and status.
I suggest going to the XC List webpage and joining, it's free, and you get the latest announcements about lessons and other ski happenings
You should also use the Madison Nordic Ski Club website as a resource for almost anything about XC skiing. While lessons are free to anyone, we encourage your consideration of club membership. It's inexpensive but helps support trail grooming and maintenance among many other things which benefit every cross-country skier in our community.
NOTE to Ski Instructors: Please let me know if you are available for ski instruction.
