We have a variety of racing opportunities for the club - when there's snow in Madison we hold races on Tuesday Nights at Elver Park. Early season races are held out at Tyrol Basin near Mount Horeb, and we hold the annual Ice Age Classic race. There are other races in the area that we think you should know about as well. Our races are generously sponsored by Don Miller Subaru.

2008 Elver Park RacesThe MadNorSki Tuesday Night Elver Races at Madison's Elver Park will be held on the lighted trails on January 8, 15, 22, 29, and February 5, 12 & 19 in 2008. Race distances will generally be 5K and 10K with skating and classic technique classes. The race format and course may differ from week to week. Information regarding each race will be posted to the XC email list prior to the race including schedule changes and cancellations. All skiers are welcome. First timer race info below. First-Timer Races will be held as part of the MadNorSki Tuesday Night Elver Races on January 22 and 29, 2008. These races are designed for new or inexperienced skiers who would like to try racing in a smaller group and at a shorter distance. These races will be 2-3K in length on easier sections of the lighted trails. Skiers can use either skating or classic techniques. Registration for the First Timer Races will be from 5:15 to 5:45 PM with a race start at 6 PM. Results will be posted here. There is no fee for the "First-Timer" Races and everyone is welcome.

A ski trail pass is required for those 14 and older. This is not included in the price of the race. The trail pass is $6 daily or $24 yearly and can be bought from Elver & Odana Shelters when staffed, any trail head, or online. This trail pass is for Madison and Dane County skiing at the following parks: Elver, Odana, Cam-Rock, Indian Lake, Lake Farm, Stewart Park and Token Creek. The funds from the pass make it possible to keep the trails groomed, the lights on and the property maintained.
