Trail Condition

Ĝroomed for skating. Depending on overnight temperatures, we may not groom again until next Monday or Tuesday.

Dale understates the quality of his grooming work. Trail was excellent for both classic and skate. Significantly more snow here than there is in Madison.

Regroomed this am after 1 1/2”of wet snow yesterday- very good conditions- snow is new and a bit slow-

Did the Pioneer Trail which was not groomed after the snow we got on Monday, but was in very good condition for classic with home-made tracks. I think skating is still possible on Hastings, Fern Dell and Turtleville. I think you could do classic on Ishnala. Park is really scenic with all the snow sticking …

Trails held up better than I expected, as of 8AM. Maybe 60% fair, 40% poor. Get out there if you can!

Lots of snow up in the Dells. Mirror Lake received another 1 or 2” today while Madison got sleet. Skied in a beautiful snow storm around noon. Hastings and Ferndale are great. Enough snow to ski in flat parts.Avoid hills because of dirt showing. Skied front trail and back trails. A lot of grass and dirt on hilly parts. You could still ski if you watched for the dirt. That was before 12 when it started sleeting after I left.

Stick to the manmade snow. All other spots are too thin. With the warming, the deck has gotten compressed quickly. But it isn’t icy yet. Sleet started as I finished at noon. Still fair amount of packed down snow, some bare patches peeking through but not too many. Lots of grooves from skis.
