Trail Condition

Set a 5km track at Donald Park this morning. Might be trampled by hikers or snowshoers by now.

Woot, we have snow! All the trails seemed to have at least an initial grooming with further grooming to be done tomorrow morning. No tracks set yet. Get out there and enjoy!

At 4 pm the skate deck was soft with a lot of loose snow. It appears to have been groomed early on 1/10. Some sections of the skate deck are narrow and if not careful your tips will catch in the ungroomed banks. If the deck gets groomed by the morning of 1/11 it will …

At noon, classic tracks were set. A bit soft but not hard to stay in. Some few thin cover spots but all easily avoidable. If the trails get set again before morning of 1/11 it will be good.

All trails have been rolled and partially corduroyed to set up a base for future snows. Trails will be tracked and groomed when the base has stabilized. The snow moisture is extremely wet.

Looked like trails were groomed quickly last night and possible one more pass on this am. Snow was faster than expected and not as soft but deck was very uneven. Bike trail groomer left a trail of debris and made the deck even more uneven. A skis are ok on what was there before new …

The snowcat is out grooming the trails now. Skate conditions are excellent, but there's no real track for classic yet so it's only good. Snow is excellent and fast. No bare spots, a bit thin and icy under heavy trees.

At noon all groomed, partly tracked on West side. Fairly good coverage & control on hills. A few twigs and leaves, but quite good for mid-December skiing. Oh wait…

Not many tracks laid for classic. There are for a short time on the West loop but that's all I saw- there must be a reason. Still a beautiful day to ski.

Elver was a beautiful winter wonderland this morning. Some equipment problems prevented Dick a I from setting track, but the skate deck is good. Lots of downed sticks under the heavy and wet snow so "B" skis are a good idea.
