Trail Condition

Blue Mound SP

Skied until about 3:15 – on all of the loops. Tracks were in great to excellent condition, even with lots of folks out there today! Solid kick on skin skis, on all uphills. Flats slow, maybe because the snow is still cold. Downhills – the descent into the campground, the plunge, and Pleasure Valley – …

McCarthy Park

Re-set tracks and groomed the skate lane in the evening, should be good to go in the morning.

McCarthy Park

Stellar conditions for skate and classic. Thank you grooming team!

Olin-Turville Park

Mostly the same conditions as reported by Ivey and T.S. yesterday, so we stayed on the flatter upper loop. Heavy equipment tracks cross the trail at several points, but snow coverage is still complete, so it's not a problem. Sunny day, and we were surprised to see that pond hockey players have shoveled off an …

Kegonsa SP

Horrible, The trails are nort groomed. The classical tracks are skier made amndnd working at the office siad their groomer broke at Gov. Nelson state Park. They just got it back and it is not repaired. If you go to either park, call ahead to see if the trails are groomed. It would have been a …

Blue Mound SP

Last groomed Thursday, so a bit worn, but still quite good. A little firmer and faster than Thursday but still good control on the hills (when an idiot isn't standing at the bottom of the plunge!!)

Mirror Lake SP – Baraboo

Hats off to groomers after marginal conditions on Tuesday,- Turtleville and Ferndell was freshly groomed -good to excellent with a few uneven spots and debris. Hastings Pioneer and Ishnala had one inch ungroomed but still fairly decent. Was relatively fast considering it was 0F when I started. Overall good to excellent ! Tracks good to …

Mirror Lake SP – Baraboo

Skied the Northwest Trail today and it was in good shape (for both classic and skating). There is some leaf litter close to the southeast corner, but for the most part the trails were in great shape, and should stay that way into Sunday before next week's big melt. Even the black diamond hill bypass …

Olin-Turville Park

Oops, I meant to check "classic," not skate, for that last report.

Olin-Turville Park

Same observation here as reported Friday for Cherokee Marsh. There's plenty of snow (!) but it's been rolled, with no tracks for classic skiing. Alas, the surface was so hard-packed on Friday that the few skiers there (including me) couldn't make their own tracks, either. Otherwise, conditions might have been excellent. Instead, they're just so-so.
