Trail Condition

BlackHawk Ski Area

Freshly groomed w/tracks. Lots of skiers but still skiing well.

McCarthy Park

All XC Ski trails were rolled last night to prep for the upcoming forecasted snow event. There is currently about 2 inches of snow throughout the course but with 4 inches of grass and some rocks it is not ready for skiers at the moment. Perform your best snow dance and let's hope the forecast …

Odana Golf Course

Lots of folks enjoying the fresh 1.5" over existing light crust. More classic today than skating, given the soft, damp, new snow, but plenty of skied in tracks. As Ken mentioned in previous post, no grooming/packing of any kind, unfortunately. Fingers Crossed, coming storm looks promising.

As Yuriy is tied up at US Nationals, he asked that I inform you that there is No skiing on the golf course until there is more snow and trails are groomed and marked. The management of the golf course are very upset that some skiers have skied over roped-off greens and tees. They invested …

Nice little loop, maybe .6-.75. Most is good, especially the uphill along the powerlines. Fresh skied in snow over some groomed.

BlackHawk Ski Area

Snowmaking continues! Some parts excellent, some parts blown wet snow. Once temps cool and they groom new snow, should be great. Unfortunately, closed to members Saturday morning for "race."

Blue Mound SP

Took the green loop. I was really surprised at how much snow coverage there was, and there wasn’t much ice. You could use your A-skis and be fine. The untouched parts of the trails looked like they had ~4inches of snow.

There is a bit more snow today, so the snow makers were productive. Thank you!

The hill by the powerlines was good and well covered. The rest of the loop is thin but skiable. I know that there have been a lot of comments about making snow and Yuriy has an explanation but people are looking at alpine areas and Blackhawk next door. Just a couple of things on snowmaking. …
