Groomed skating this morning, classic tracks still looked okay.
Groomed skating this morning, classic tracks still looked okay.
Tracks are firm and well defined. A bit of dusty snow in them made for excellent kick and glide. I was on skins again today. Waxables would work well. Probably a good green hardwax day. The reversed direction of travel made for a real nice mix-up of striding techniques. Be careful on the extra out-and-back …
Groomed for skating.
Nice trail conditions at Blackhawk today. A great base, looped course and some challenging climbing hills. Thanks to the snowmakers and groomers for their hard work and dedication. NOTE: There will be a school meet on Saturday morning and the trails will be closed until 1:00 pm

We have changed the direction of travel on the small downhill section with the left turn, which is now an uphill due to the sharp turn and skiers …
A good set of tracks around the Siberian Hwy, and up hills 2 and 4. Carry extra kick wax, or go with some klister if applicable. The going is good, just abrasive. Skate deck looked good and fast!

The snowmaking loop was groomed for skating and classic around 5 a.m. This evening, we will push snow on the trail to cover a few thin and icy spots.
The snowmaking trail was groomed for both skate and classic skiing around 7 AM.
Hats off to the grooming crew for recovering the man made loop from the melt down resulting in a very solid base with just enough tilled and groomed top to get a nice edge.
