Great coverage, not icy, and on-going grooming into the afternoon. I'm so glad I made the drive up from Madison! Looking at the forecast does not inspire great hope, but you can roundtrip this in a day and get a little more excellent skiing in!
Most of the trail is good to excellent. The north end of the loop as always is thinner and need to be more careful picking a path through. Still, probably the last good chance to ski before next week's warmer temperatures, so enjoying it while we can.
I skated the whole park. The skate trails in small woods were fair with little grass.Thewoods behind the big hill were fair on the back trail but bad on the downhills and very bad on the cool curvy diwnhill. It was fast in tge open fields.Get out there and enjoy last day to ski.Pray for snow
AFTER HOURS SKI TRAIL/BRULE RIVER STATE FOREST (Brule, WI): Trails were in the process of being groomed this morning as Joanie and I skied Sally's Classic trail and a variety of skate trails. The couple inches of fresh powder was welcome over the crusty base and the fresh groom made everything even better. Trails went …
Yahara Golf Course: Beautiful zippy skiing this morning. A nice surprise after the conditions at Odana the last 2 weeks. Lots of snow, even deep snow in areas due to most of the ridge facing north. Best for adventurous nature loving people who don't mind imperfect tracks. Park on the east side of the lot …
Groomed skating using the Gator.
The Mound rarely disappoints. Complete coverage on the wooded trails and campground area. Got a bit soft with the warm temps but it should be skiable through the weekend
Again soccer fields excellent cover with good glide in my circular and diagonal tracks. West woods sketchy but doable no wax & caution.
MOUNT ASHWABAY (Bayfield, WI): Our first visit here in many years, Joanie and I circled the trail system on many of the single-track classic only trails, including Deer Path, Sugar Bush, and Oppendahl's Alley. The tracks appeared to have been groomed recently with some fresh powder on top, and pole plants were still solid. These …
