Nordic Ski and Winter Fun Club (ages 5-6)
The MadNorSki winter programs for our youngest skiers, Nordic Ski Club (ages 5-6) and Winter Trail Kids (ages 7-11), are guided by CXC/USSA Certified Level 100 and Level 200 coaches with the assistance of volunteer instructors. The goal of these programs is for kids to learn physical literacy on skis and fundamental ski skills.
Each session will be around 1 hour long and will include skill progression, games, and small pod group ski. Each session will have a different focus and will progress in basic skill development. When natural snow conditions are poor, we will either use the CXC Trails in Middleton where there is a machine-made snow loop or do a winter exploration/activity at Elver park. Participants will be notified by email of any schedule or location change 24 hours in advance. Participants will NOT need to purchase a CXC trail pass when participating in a Madnorski program.
Equipment
Participants must have their own classic boots, skis and poles that are fitted to their size and weight. And many lessons will not use poles! We discourage the use of ski bindings that fit snow boots–Please be sure your skier has a regular ski boot that clicks into a binding on the ski.
Note: Parent or families must have a current 2023-24 Madnorski membership to enroll in youth programs. Thank you for your support of the club!
