It's true: there's snow here! Ungroomed and hiked upon but fluffy and clean. I used BC skis but it wasn't strictly necessary, if you are careful and have strong ankles. What I suggest is flatten as much loose snow as you can, before it blows away or gets stepped on. Segments are already packed enough to skate. For now classic is the way. I don't think a deep burned-in track is possible, just packing the base would be a big start.
