Skied the outer Black and Purple loops on natural snow, in addition to the machine snow loop (which was very good). The compacted natural snow was about 4" deep, and coverage was good, except that in places the groomer tread had broken to the soil, leaving narrow snow bridges, and there were bare spots developing. A wind storm broke some tree limbs onto the trail in a few places, but these had been cleaned up, though leaving some eskers of sawdust to ski over. It was a very challenging afternoon, requiring sidestepping half way down a few of the steeper downhills due to heavy, wet snow, with us crashing once of thrice, which is very rare, but it was my birthday and it had to be skied… (Check with the park to see if it's been re-groomed since…) The combination of La Nina and climate warming is not for sissies!!
