Blue Mound SP

The combination of record heat, some sun, torrential rain, heavy winds, and possible even some hail have had a visibly deleterious effect on the trails compared to just 24 hours ago. I took a quick drive through the park after the storm to take a peak at the trails at some of the road/hiking intersections. It was mostly bad, although what I saw of the upper Ridgeview Trail and the Pool Trail did give me some hope. Along with those, I think it's possible that the trails on the north/east sides of the mound that lie deeper in the forest may have survived, but it's unclear at this time. I would advise waiting a day or two for the trails to dry out and firm up before giving it another go. Otherwise, you'll sink right in.
