Trails were freshly groomed this morning and in overall good condition with solid, deep tracks. Joanie and I strided all 4 of the numbered loops (and some more than once). There are some places in the tracks where vegetation or ground is showing, but these were easy to work around. Thanks to the county groomers!
Pretty much perfect conditions. Tracks were wonderful. Very little leaf litter but I did not go up into the western hills. Went everywhere else though and it was dreamy. When left around noon they were grooming the skate deck too.
At 11 am the skate deck was about half excellent and half fair/good. Sections windblown are crusty and thin cover. But very little — maybe 2% — is snirty or exposed ground. Yuriy was grooming. Yeah! Buy a trail pass y'all! Grooming costs $$.
Blue Mound staff indicate they have their equipment ready and hope to groom tomorrow (Friday), so should be in much better shape by later tomorrow afternoon, or Saturday. Campground loop may be a bit compromised due to some prior plowing & maintenance work that is now finished.

Classic tracks were set on all trails on the golf course. Nearly all of the golf course trails were groomed for skating, but we had an issue with the groomer and were unable to finish the section on the Round-A-Lot trail and CXC trails.
We groomed everything yesterday for skate and classic and coverage was good and the deck was firm. We'll groom everything again first thing tomorrow morning.
Freshly rolled not long before 4pm. No classic tracks. Skate deck a bit uneven in places, with a few weeds showing through, but overall very enjoyable skiing. Heard an owl while skating on Woodland Trail.
Freshly groomed today. Skate deck was untouched. Tracks were deep and firm, excellent grooming throughout the park. The best shape that I’ve ever seen the trails in. Thank you grooming crew!
Madison Parks opened after 2 today. I gave all the trails a pass with the MadNorSki equipment and they should keep getting better as temps drop.
