Beautiful morning. Classic tracks firm and almost complete round the loop.
skied the 1.5km loop mid morning-was in great shape -Thanks Santa for grooming this morning. Got a bit icy in a few spots when i left toward noon. hopefully will groom again tomorrow-temps will be slightly below freezing overnight
Would be excellent but there’s lots of footprints on the ski trails. Would be good to have signs at park and trail entrances noting ski trails are ski only. 99% coverage 1-5” deep. Looks like a few folks have skated the classic loops.
Did the Ishnala trail which was a nice experience. Snow from Monday hasn't hardened yet and still somewhat soft. The trail isn't groomed but there are (mostly) home made tracks and is in good shape. At this point I think Turtleville, Fern Dell and Hastings are good for skate. And Pioneer, Ishnala, Kilbourn, and Northwest …
A Christmas present day at McCarthy today! We did not groom, it’s too thin. However wi did ski, both skate and classic. The 1/4” of dry, sugary snow overnight on top of the firm (but thin) base made for a surprisingly fast and satisfying glide. Get out while the gettins’ good! 60/40 good/fair, with kids …
Ĝroomed for skating. Depending on overnight temperatures, we may not groom again until next Monday or Tuesday.
Dale understates the quality of his grooming work. Trail was excellent for both classic and skate. Significantly more snow here than there is in Madison.
Regroomed this am after 1 1/2”of wet snow yesterday- very good conditions- snow is new and a bit slow-
Did the Pioneer Trail which was not groomed after the snow we got on Monday, but was in very good condition for classic with home-made tracks. I think skating is still possible on Hastings, Fern Dell and Turtleville. I think you could do classic on Ishnala. Park is really scenic with all the snow sticking …
Trails held up better than I expected, as of 8AM. Maybe 60% fair, 40% poor. Get out there if you can!
