Owen Conservation park. A hidden gem where I saw a flock of turkeys and a huge deer. I skied the main sections and a small trail in the woods. Tehre was good snow coverage but icy. The downhills are very fast BUT the logs they have horizontal to the trail to stop runoff were barely covered so they could cause damage to nice skis. However th skliing was fun for about an hour. This is locatede off Old Sauk Road and a map is available on the Madison XC trails websiute. A great place for quiet classical skiing. Too narrow for a lot of skating but possible on some of the hills but watched out for the logs. The trails into the woods are more like snowshoeing trails but can be done very slowly on classicakl skis. More snow on Sunday will make this park really skiable. Try something new,. This is great for classical skiing and very isolated and quiet. :Lots of wild life and great downhills
